Gleam is an annual, outdoor exhibit of illuminated art installations created by local, regional, and international artists. Each year is a different theme, but now in its 10th year, this year’s theme is reflection to celebrate the milestone and look back on the exhibits of past years. All of the large-scale light installations are displayed in the 16 acres of outdoor gardens at Olbrich. This event occurs only at night, and tickets can be purchased ahead of time.
Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes, & More

While typically seen as a summer event in most Madison tourist itineraries, this once-a-month (on select Thursdays from 5-9), seasonal nighttime market occurs through October 16th. State Street, Gilman Street, Capitol Square, and nearby blocks fill with over 100 local artisans, food carts, and live music. Stroll through sidewalk booths offering handmade crafts, gourmet snacks, and fresh produce, while nearby shops stay open late with special offers. Themes vary by month—past events have celebrated UW–Madison, Madison sports, Hispanic heritage, and even “Science on the Square” in October.
