High Noon Saloon
High Noon Saloon is a Classic Madison club with shows most nights on East Washington Avenue and is just a short distance from the central area of downtown.
Relax with Jazz & blues in a cool, laid-back spot, nestled in the eclectic and vibrant Willy Street area on Madison’s near east side, not far from downtown.
A Northwoods-style Bar with live music often featuring local acts just off John Nolen Drive heading out of downtown towards Madison’s east side. There is live music every weeknight from 6-9 PM.
Located in the Atwood area of Madison’s east side, The Bur Oak is known for hosting a mix of local, regional, and touring artists, as well as other performances like comedy, drag brunches, open mics, and community events.
The Harmony is a humble and cozy local neighborhood bar and grill. This establishment hosts live music most weekends — often Friday and Saturday nights, and frequently on Thursday nights, with music sometimes on Wednesdays and Sundays too. The music spans genres like acoustic, alt-country, bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock, and roots.
Why not have a fun group outing at a Piano Bar just off State Street? The Ivory Room hosts performances every night with dueling pianos, requests, and comedy in an uplifting and energetic atmosphere.
The Rigby Pub, Grill, and Event Venue
The Rigby is a Beatles-themed pub and grill just off the Capitol Square and King Street that often has musical performances.
The Crystal Corner is a popular, gritty, neighborhood Dive bar on Willy Street with regular live music from blues, to country, to rock and roll.
Kiki's House of Righteous Music
You don’t get much more of a “hidden gem” than Kiki’s House of Righteous Music, which is a venue literally in a house within the Atwood Avenue neighborhood on Madison’s near east side (just past Willy Street). It is a highly rated live music venue featuring a wide variety of artists in a very unique, personal, and eclectic venue.
Big Sounds, Big Crowds
Our music scene brings in nationally popular groups and artists to a variety of venues across the city that can hold audiences of the largest fan bases.
Located on State Street and very close to the hotel, The Overture Center of the Arts Diverse performing arts center with concerts of all kinds, comedy shows, book tours, and Broadway shows. Mention performing arts org that are a part of it.
The Sylvee is one of Madison’s largest and newest music venues with national & regional acts of all genres just off East Washington Avenue, not far from downtown.
The Majestic Theatee is a historic, mid-sized live music club downtown that features a variety of performances and events, like themed music and dance events. It is one of Madison’s oldest venues, as it was built in 1906.
This classic theatre was built as a movie house on State Street in the 1920’s, and has always been something of an icon with its standout marquis in the view of the state capitol. Nowadays, it is still a performance venue hosting comedians, bands, solo artists, and more. Aside from the Overture Center, it is the closest venue to the Madison Concourse Hotel.
Located in the near-east neighborhood of Atwood, as the name of the venue suggests, Atwood Music Hall is an artsy venue with a varied concert lineup.
Also located on Atwood Avenue, the Barrymore is a long-running live music venue on the east side that hosts a wide variety of events from comedy shows to music to live podcasts and book tours.

Seasonal Festivals
Madison is home to many festivals over the summer and early fall, and with that come outdoor concerts. There’s nothing like listening to a live band under an open sky in the fresh air.
Sessions at McPike
Every summer, McPike Park on the near-east side of Madison in the Williamson-Marquette neighborhood hosts its “Sessions” series, which is a long-running, volunteer-run summer music and arts series in Madison that features live music, dance, comedy, food vendors, and community activities — traditionally held in McPike Park on the Madison Isthmus. This series often has events on weekdays and is a great way to unwind after a long day of meetings.
Concerts on the Square
Concerts on the Square is a free, weekly summer concert series held on the Wisconsin State Capitol lawn, presented by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. Taking place on Wednesday evenings, it’s a beloved Madison tradition where locals gather with picnic blankets, food, and friends to enjoy live orchestral and pops music in a relaxed, community-focused setting.
Jazz at Five is a free summer concert series held on the Capitol Square, typically on Wednesday evenings before Concerts on the Square. Featuring local and regional jazz musicians, it offers a laid-back way to enjoy live music, grab dinner or drinks nearby, and ease into a summer night downtown.
Capital Brewery has an outdoor biergarten in Middleton, just outside Madison — a lively, social outdoor space attached to one of Wisconsin’s oldest craft breweries. Open typically May through October, the beer garden (nicknamed Middleton’s Backyard) features live music on the weekends.
Imagine watching the sunset along the lake while enjoying a pitcher of beer and brats with colleagues, while a band plays into the night air. This is what summer nights are like at the Memorial Union Terrace–a quintessential Madison experience.
