Art Fair on the Square (July 12-14)

Presented by the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA), this juried festival features over 500 artists from across the country, showcasing a diverse array of work including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, and fine crafts. With nearly 200,000 visitors expected, the fair also offers live music, entertainment, and a variety of food vendors, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of downtown Madison. Atwood Fest (July 26-27)

​AtwoodFest is a vibrant, free street festival held annually on Madison's east side, transforming Atwood Avenue into a lively celebration of music, food, and community. The event features three music stages showcasing a diverse lineup of local and regional artists, including genres like funk, rock, and a cappella. Beyond the music, attendees can explore a variety of food vendors, artisan booths, and family-friendly activities, making it a highlight of Madison's summer festival season.

 

Great Taste of the Midwest (August 9)

Now in its 39th year, this event is the second-longest-running craft beer festival in North America, hosted by the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild. From 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., attendees can sample from over 1,400 beers poured by approximately 200 breweries and brewpubs from across the Midwest, all while enjoying stunning lakeside views and live music. The festival is known for its relaxed atmosphere, capped attendance, and the unique opportunity to meet the brewers themselves. Tickets are $70 and must be purchased in advance—either through a ticket lottery or at select Madison breweries starting May 4, 2025.

 

Orton Park Festival (August 29-31)

​The Orton Park Festival, Madison's longest-running outdoor music celebration, returns for its 60th in the heart of the Marquette neighborhood. ​Taste of Madison is a vibrant, free-to-attend food and music festival held annually over Labor Day weekend in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. The event transforms Capitol Square into a bustling hub of culinary delights and live entertainment. With over 80 local restaurants and food vendors offering small plates for attendees to try,, attendees can sample a diverse array of cuisines. Complementing the food are 26 beverage stands and multiple stages featuring live music performances throughout the weekend.
 

Willy Street Fair (September 20-21)

This whimsical neighborhood festival of storied, eclectic Williamson Street marks the end of summer and the end of the Madison summer festival season. This vibrant, free event transforms the neighborhood into a lively celebration of music, food, art, and community. With five stages featuring a diverse lineup of performances—including tributes to iconic artists, local bands, and dynamic DJs—there's entertainment for all tastes. Attendees can explore over 150 vendors offering a variety of crafts and culinary delights, while families will enjoy the dedicated Kids Stage and family-friendly activities. A highlight of the weekend is the whimsical parade kicking off at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
