Located just a few minutes walking distance from the hotel, the Madison Children’s Museum is a space that breathes love, creativity, and fun. In 2024, the Association of Children’s Museums hosted their InterActivity Conference in Madison in order to showcase the recent renovations of the museum to their peers.
Rentals range between $4,250-$10,400. Nonprofits receive a 30% Discount.
Built in the 1920’s on State Street (which is also just a short walk from the hotel), The Orpheum Theatre is a live performance theatre built initially as a movie palace and has become an icon of State Street and Madison’s downtown with it’s famous sign making its way into nearly every photograph of the center of the city. It is a historic landmark that has its original features thoughtfully preserved and still is a popular performance venue and rental space today.
Also a close neighbor of ours on State Street, Overture is a performing arts center and art gallery that hosts various events from concerts to touring Broadway productions. Their rentable space in their lobby features 75-foot glass curtain walls providing views of the State Capitol Building and State Street shopping district.
The Wisconsin Masonic Center is also very near the hotel within short walking district located closer to the lake and Mansion Hill district. The Temple was first designed in 1915, being redesigned in 1922 and rebuilt after World War 1 between 1923-1925 with Art Deco inspired decor. It was added to the National Historic Register of Places in 1990, and there are several rentable spaces including a grand foyer and large theatre.
Located on State Street across from the Overture, Comedy on State is a comedy club with a fun atmosphere and an intimate lounge vibe. It is available for private events, just not on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights due to weekly shows.
Located on King Street just off the capitol square (an under 10-minute walk from the hotel), The Majestic is a historic venue featuring live music, stand-up comedy, DJ dance parties, and movie nights. It first opened as a vaudeville house in 1906 and is currently Madison’s oldest operating theatre. It did have a brief incarnation as a dance club, but the Majestic returned to its roots in live performances.
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
Another gem at the top of State Street, MMoCA is an independent, non-profit museum dedicated to exhibiting, collecting, and preserving modern and contemporary art. Due to its stunning glass architecture, it really stands out on the top of State Street nearest to the capitol square.
Rental varies from $1,250 to $2,250 with non profit discounts available.
Located on East Washington Avenue just a short driving-distance from the hotel, the Sylvee is Madison’s newest and largest concert venue for emerging artists, established cultural icons, and community events. It’s namesake honors Sylvia “Sylvee” Frank who helped bring thousands of live events to Madison and shaped out music and performance heritage and reputation.
Constructed in 1926 as a baseball stadium, the multi-purpose stadium is home to the oldest extant masonry grandstand in Wisconsin. From soccer and ultimate frisbee to private events, festivals and concerts, the possibilities are nearly endless for groups that want to take their events outside.
A turn-of-the-century feed mill on Madison’s east side near the historic and eclectic Atwood neighborhood (10-15 min driving-distance from the hotel) is now housing a diverse array of food producers. Garver is a foodie and wellness destination for locals and out-of-towners alike,

A historic, nearly 100 year-old icon located on the south shore of Lake Mendota on the campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison is of the most beloved destinations on UW-Madison's campus. It is a place to socialize, relax, study and watch the sunset along Lake Mendota with a pitcher of Wisconsin beer. The building itself has stunning architecture and decor that serves as a venue in addition to being a social hot spot.
Located near Olbrich Park near the Atwood Neighborhood on Madison’s near-east side, Olbrich is a 16-acre outdoor botanical garden and 10,000-square-foot conservatory founded in 1952.
Olbrich has three rooms inside the botanical center that are available for rental year-round, each of which overlooks the stunning scenery of the outdoor gardens. The Bolz Conservatory is also available as an add-on for evening rentals if you’re looking for the ambiance of a tropical paradise as a backdrop.
Located on Madison’s east side near the Williamson-Marquette Neighborhood, this venue is a 1925 Madison-original Trachte brothers building that has been transformed into a stunningly unique event venue with 9,000 square feet of open floor plan, 23’ ceilings, and a 1,000 square foot 4-season solarium.The 2021 renovation was named Adaptive Reuse project of the year by the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation. It is a popular venue for weddings and events of all kinds.
Near UW-Madison’s Library Mall at the end of State Street, this 1901 historic headquarters building offers its sophisticated and elegant spaces for the community. It provides historical, educational, and social events that support the values of the Historical Society and benefits the Madison community at large.
