Forward Theater Company
A professional, nonprofit theatre company based at the Overture Center for the Arts. Founded in 2009, it produces high-quality contemporary plays—often fresh from Broadway or newly developed works—featuring local and regional artists. Known for its intimate performances and community engagement, the company enhances each show with pre-show talks and post-show discussions, creating a thoughtful, conversation-driven theatre experience.
 

Children’s Theatre of Madison
A leading family-focused theatre company and resident organization at the Overture Center for the Arts. Founded in 1965, it produces professional plays and musicals designed to engage young audiences while still appealing to all ages, often featuring both adult and youth performers. In addition to its performances, the company offers extensive educational programs and classes, helping foster creativity and a love of theatre throughout the Madison community. 
 

Madison Ballet
A resident company of the Overture Center for the Arts and the region’s premier professional ballet organization. Kanopy Dance
Kanopy Dance Company is a contemporary dance ensemble based at the Overture Center for the Arts. Founded in 1974, it is known for its innovative choreography, collaborative performances, and strong emphasis on both professional productions and community engagement. Alongside its performances, Kanopy also operates a dance studio, offering classes and training for dancers of all ages and skill levels.
 

University of Wisconsin Theatre

University Theatre (UW–Madison) is the producing arm of the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Theatre and Drama. It stages a diverse season of plays each year—ranging from classic works to contemporary and student-devised productions—performed by undergraduate and graduate students alongside faculty artists. Bartell Theatre

The Bartell Theatre Foundation is the longest-operating collaborative arts institution in the United States. The theatre itself is located on East Mifflin Street, just off the Wisconsin State Capitol Square and a short walk from the hotel.
