National Pet Day, celebrated on April 11th, is a special time to recognize the joy, love, and companionship our furry (or feathered, scaly, or finned) friends bring into our lives. It's not just a day for pampering your own pets, but also a reminder to support and adopt animals in need. Whether you're cuddling with a cat, walking a dog, or watching fish swim peacefully in a tank, today is all about appreciating the unique bond between humans and their animal companions.

 

Our team here at the Madison Concourse Hotel has been celebrating National Pet Day by bringing in donations for local animal shelters and shared photos of their furry (and not-so-furry) family members. Meet some of our animal friends pictured below:

 

Brody (Mary S.)

Brody is a 14 months old Cane Corso. He is master at digging large holes in Mom and Dads backyard 🙁

 

Bella (Mary S.)

Bella is a 6 year old English Bull dog and loves winter. She lays right down in the snow! Odd for a short haired dog.

 

Sadie (Jon K.)

She can't stand when people blow their nose. She will try to "save you".

Church and Bodie (Derek A.)

Church hisses at strangers, but quickly warms up and invites you to pet him. He can also observe himself (and whoever is holding him) in mirrors.
Bodie can jump higher, has sharper claws, talks more and is the better hunter.

King of the side eye no matter if he's being sassy or sweet.

 

Draco Malfoy (Cae)

He is an old man so he can't actually see out of his right eye due to a developing cataract. I can't move anything in his enclosure, or he will get lost!

 

Megatron (Cae)

He knows 5 commands, 3 of which have hand signals.

 

Thone Gumball (Cae)

He loves to sit on his outside perch and look out the window.

 

Chimera (Trevor S.)

She loves lying in the sunshine when she's not watching the birdies outside!

She's always cold and sleeps under the blankets!
