Director of Sales
Michael Ferguson, Director of Sales
What that means: He gets to collaborate with an amazing team of sales and catering professionals on a daily basis, assisting in bringing conferences in to Madison to enjoy our beautiful city. He also works closely with our University and Government partners as my focus market, enjoying the speed and ever constant change.
Experience: He started his hospitality career at the Madison Concourse Hotel, working in the association sales manager position and moved in the University and Government Market.
Self-described: Creative, driven, thoughtful, outspoken
Behind the scene: Chauffer driver for two teenaged kids, seek out opportunity to bring creativity to any situation, and any form of retail therapy.
Associations Sales Manager
Kelly Gwiazda, Associations Sales Manager
What that means: Her main focus lies on Unions, Local/State/National Association meetings and conferences that include guestrooms. In addition, she works with Hobbyist/Special Interest groups and Tour/Travel Groups (including Motor Coach.)
Experience: She graduated with a degree in hospitality and has worked in the hotel industry for over ten years.
Self-Described: An organized person with an eye for analytical detail who gives 110% of her attention and focus to extraordinary guest service.
Behind-the-scenes: She is the proud mama to three spirited little boys that keep her moving. When there is a break in the action, she very much enjoys tinkering in the kitchen and her colleagues are first in line to test the goodies.
Corporate Sales Manager
Julie Check, Corporate Sales Manager
What that means: Julie specializes in Epic travel, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Insurance clients, providing assistance with setting up preferred rates, meeting and conference planning.
Experience: She started her career in hospitality over 16 years ago as a riverboat tour guide in college; showing tourist the beauty of the Mississippi is where she grew to love interacting with new people each day! After college she managed catering for country clubs in Illinois.
Self-Described: Genuine, Caring, Joyful and Dedicated.
Behind-the-scenes: Chasing after her toddler sons keeps her and her husband on their toes! Their best days are spent outside hiking with their beloved dog, fishing or boating. Exploring new places and entertaining friends are both also always on the top of the list!
Corporate Sales Manager
Emily Rauber, Corporate Sales Manager
What that means: Emily sets up group room rates and plans conferences and meetings for our coporate clients.
Experience: Prior to joining the Madison Concourse, Emily worked for the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront hotel. The experience that she has gained from working at the Madison Concourse has shown that she truly loves the world of hospitality.
Self-Described: Focused, detailed to a fault , driven, passionate.
Behind-the-scenes: In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is a big Wisconsin sports junkie, and also loves attending concerts and music festivals.
Convention Services Manager
Mary Schulz, Convention Services Manager
What that means: She plans and coordinates all convention details such as food and beverage, meeting room set up and AV needs for large conventions.
Experience: She has worked in food service since she was 15 years old and began working in hotels when she was in college. Before transitioning into her current role, she worked for fourteen years here at the hotel as the Banquet Manager.
Self-described: Troubleshooter, AV extraordinaire, food and beverage industry expert, problem-solver, creative-minded person.
Behind-the-scenes: Family is where it’s at for her. She is the mother of two great kids and loves to travel with her husband. She is also an animal lover and is the proud owner of two cats and a dog.

Chastity Stanila - Wedding Sales Manager
, Chastity Stanila - Wedding Sales Manager
What that means: She works with couples during every aspect of their wedding planning. From the initial tour, through the contractual process, menu tasting and detailing, as well as being on-site the day of the wedding to ensure all plans are executed to the highest degree of detail. Chastity makes it a worry-free day for all of her couples so they can enjoy the time they get to spend with their friends and family.
Experience: Chastity has 13 years experience in wedding and event planning in Lake Geneva, Minneapolis, WI Dells and Madison.
Self-Described: Compassionate, kind, hard working and creative – loves to go outside of the box and exceed expectations.
Behind-the-scenes: In her free time, Chastity loves being a mom to 2 kids and 2 fur-babies! She enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, is a Daisy Troop leader and a personal chauffer to all of her kids' after-school activities!
Julie Woodward - Director of Catering
, Julie Woodward - Director of Catering
What that means: She oversees our Catering Department and helps to coordinate food and beverage details for groups ranging from 5-1000 people. She is in charge of all events taking place in the hotel including but not limited to ceremonies, receptions, conferences, and galas.
Experience: Her knowledge and expertise is well-rounded as she has always been in hospitality and has worked in virtually every department in the hotel industry (except engineering).
Self-Described: focused, direct, solution-driven, inspiring.
Behind-the-scenes: She is a mother to three daughters, enjoys hitting the road with her husband, and loves to spend time baking delicious treats.
