Baker

The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for a full-time Baker, with AM shifts from 3am-11am or 5am – 1pm. Flexibility and weekends are required. The ideal candidate must be creative, organized, have the ability to troubleshoot while working independently, as well as in a team environment, and abide by strict sanitation standards and practices. To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to work with a sense of urgency and an economy of movement while producing a consistent, high standard of product. The candidate must also be able to read and interpret recipes and formulas accurately, be self-motivated, and have a passion for baking. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least one year of related baking experience and/or training is required. A culinary degree and/or ServSafe certification are a plus.

Banquet Bartender/Server

We are looking for a part-time Banquet Bartender to work 1-3 shifts per week, including Friday and Saturday nights. The wage is $4.93 per hour, plus tips. NOTE: Cross-training available to work as a Banquet Server, is preferred.

Set up bar with all necessary supplies including requisitioning proper amounts of beer. Receive beer orders from wait staff or guests and prepare the desired drinks. Maintain portion controls. Responsible for cash box and filling out banquet bills and making proper cash deposits. Operate bar equipment. Organized so that they can set up bar as contracted and be open on time. Legally responsible for service of alcohol. According to Wisconsin State Law, all bartenders must be 18 years or older.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Extraordinary Service: Ensure all department, hotel and state rules and regulations are upheld by bartenders at all times. Make sure the event is ready to go on time as per contract requirements and all function details are carried through by making sure the scheduled employee is present and briefed on his/her function. Make sure the event is properly open and closed; Make sure all checks accurately filled out and signed, Make sure daily cash deposit completed, Make sure your work area and storage areas are cleaned up. Make sure your bar is properly maintained, and notify manager of any items that need to be replaced or ordered. Smile and be friendly guest services to all our guests and team members. Be welcoming & knowledgeable of beverages as well as event. Requisition any additional product needed.

Impeccable Facilities: Maintain a clean uniform & appearance standards according to appearance policy. Maintain and clean all banquet storage/preparation areas. Check areas in banquet rooms to insure cleanliness during service. Report spills & problems to managers as soon as possible. As you walk throughout the hotel you will pick up and encounter trash in public areas. Do your best to clean it up and if you can’t complete it please report it to someone who can. Clean-up banquet room facilities properly and efficiently. Clean the banquet kitchen, clear all dirty dishes and glassware.

Superb Cuisine: Ensure customer complaints are dealt with immediately and in professional manner. Report food /beverage related issues to Chef and Banquet manager. Make sure you are serving high quality food/beverage.

SUMMARY
The Banquet Captain supervises and coordinates activities of banquet waitstaff during banquets to ensure that food and beverages are served promptly by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Extraordinary Service:
1. Coordinate setting up of banquet facility.
2. Directly reports all meal functions to Banquet Manager including any problems, time changes, etc.
3. Consult with Banquet Manager on such items as serving arrangements and additional employees and equipment needed.
4. Make sure all set-ups are done according to contract, make sure they are running on time and that clean-up is proper and complete.
5. Train all new wait staff on the proper banquet wait staff procedures and provide feedback.
6. Read contracts and be aware of special items, i.e. dietary needs, veggie-meals, etc.
7. Responsible for serving alcoholic beverages at functions, i.e. wine service.
8. Supervise the wait staff for each meal function. Make sure they are maintaining their share of the responsibilities, finding work during slow times, etc.
9. Serve meals to guests with courtesy, knowledge and proper attitude. Continue to service tables until they are finished.
10. Ensure banquet is running smoothly, i.e. glasses are filled, food is served and tables are cleared in a timely fashion.
11. Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by banquet manager.
12. Smile and be friendly to our guests and team members.
13. Make sure Captain’s report is filled out before leaving.
14. Supervise and direct staff to insure that our guests are served with proper attitude and efficiently.
15. Attend all Waitstaff meetings that are scheduled.

Banquet Set-up Supervisor

SUMMARY
The Banquet Set-up Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of all Houseperson during the shift to ensure rooms and audio-visuals are set correctly; in addition to Food and Beverage are served promptly and appropriately to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Extraordinary Service:
1.    Delegate tasks to other housepersons as necessary to ensure the proper maintenance and timeliness of breaks, sets, turns, audio-visual set-up, and other hotel and guest related matters.
2.    Receive instructions at the beginning of each shift from set up/break sheet.
3.    Set up function space to desired specifications and at desired times set forth by the Catering Office and Banquet Manager.
4.    Take care of banquet and audio-visual equipment and facilities and report any needed maintenance to the Banquet Manager. 
5.    Perform minor daily maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, etc.
6.    Assist Banquet Bartenders in obtaining ice, getting supplies and setting up portable bars as needed.  Set up and replace tap beer kegs as needed.
7.    Deliver and service coffee breaks as instructed by the Banquet Manager and according to BEO specifications.
8.  Service and refresh meeting rooms during breaks or as instructed by the Banquet Lead Houseperson or Banquet Manager.
9.  Wear radio at all times.
10.  Attend all Houseperson meetings that are scheduled.
11.  Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the Banquet Manager.
12.  Aid groups with special requests and various needs.
13.  Assist wait staff in setting up of rooms as needed.  Put water in all meeting rooms prior to the start of a meeting.  Fill all water glasses needed for all meal functions.
14.  Deliver all hotel guest packages as specified on contract or by supervisor.
15.  Assist guests with carts to help move in and move out of banquet facility.
16.  Smile and be friendly to our guests and team members.
17.  Insure turnovers of banquet rooms are completed in a timely manner, per BEO specifications.
18.  Supervise Banquet Houseperson to insure our guests are happy and all work related tasks are completed.
19.  Make sure all banquet areas are locked and lights turned off at the end of the day.
20.  Confirm room sets and audio-visual against BEO; and make appropriate changes or additions, as needed.

Impeccable Facilities:
1.  Keep all function space in a clean and sanitary condition, which includes vacuuming carpeted areas frequently.
2.  Maintain and clean all banquet storage/preparation areas.
3.  Make sure you and staff are properly uniformed per our appearance policy.
4.  Check areas in banquet rooms to insure cleanliness during service.
5.  Report spills & problems to managers as soon as possible.
