Housekeeping - Room Attendant

The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for a long-term and full-time Room Attendant in our Housekeeping department! This candidate needs to be a hard worker with the ability to pay great attention to detail and have a positive attitude! This is a full time position of various shift lengths starting at 8AM, including weekends and holidays.

The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring a pleasant, safe and comfortable stay for hotel guests by maintaining room cleanliness and attending our guest’s needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The ability to communicate (verbal and written) with other staff members and guests, in English, is preferred.

• Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens.
• Makes beds.
• Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Checks wraps and renders personal assistance to patrons.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.

IT Specialist

The primary role of the IT Specialist is to provide assistance to both internal users and hotel guests. General knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems is required. Strong customer service skills are required. This is a full time position, reporting to the IT Manager.

Duties:
· Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network problems with computing devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
· Provide assistance to all internal users and guests.
· Install and configure device software, hardware and peripherals (mobile devices, printers/copiers).
· Provide one on one assistance and/or training with staff members.
· Install and maintain Cat5e/6 and coax cable for data, voice or catv feeds.
· Monitor wireless controller and video system controller.
· Administer Micros Point-of-Sale system.
· Assist on various interdepartmental projects as needed.

Education: 2 year technical degree or equivalent, and/or 1 year work experience in related field required.

Knowledge & Experience:
· Knowledge of basic computer hardware (A+ certification a plus).
· Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7/8, Server 2008, Mac OS X, and Linux.
· Working knowledge of basic networking concepts (routing and switching, vlans, ACL’s, security) focusing on Cisco/HP OS and hardware.
· Experience with most smartphones and tablets (Apple, Android, and Windows).
· Familiar with Microsoft Access relational databases.
· Experience with Point-of-Sale systems a plus, but not required.
· Experience with telephone/voicemail systems a plus, but not required.
· Extensive customer service skills
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Strong documentation skills.

SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities in the dining room and to provide fast and courteous service to our patrons by performing the following duties listed below.

MAIN DUTIES:
— To provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests.
— To escort guests to the table, seat them, provides menus pour water, remove extra setting if necessary.
— To take table reservations and effectively control the flow of the guests in the restaurant ensuring maximum turnover.
— To answer telephone calls and handle inquiry’s.
— To assist in the operation during busy periods.
— To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu.
— To ensure that the reception desk and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
— To handle guest complaints, requests and inquires on food, beverage and service.
— To establish a report with guests maintaining good customer relationships.
— To collect check payment, from server or customers and close out checks accordingly.
— To tip-out servers and the end off the shift, run cash-out receipt at the end of shift, verify sales and make the necessary drop.
— To count to ensure that cash register is $300 dollars for the following shift or following day.
— To maintain a legible and up-to-date reservation book.
— To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES:
— To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
— To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standard.
— To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
— To maintain good working relationship with fellow employees and colleagues from other departments.
— To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Policies relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
— To comply with local legislation as required.
— To have a complete understanding of the Hotel’s employee handbook and adhere to the regulation contained within.
— To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
— To attend all training sessions/programs that are requested by the Restaurant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction. Ability to deal with problem involving a few concrete variables in standardized situation.
